Case Study Overview:Leveraging the structural perks of Chiu Ming Court's classic "Harmonious 3" design, this flat featured virtually no internal load-bearing walls, offering immense flexibility for layout customization. However, with the property approaching 28 years of age, aging utilities required a rigorous structural upgrade. Upon taking over the site, the Cheung Hing engineering team prioritized overhauling the entire plumbing and electrical wiring for absolute safety, alongside executing heavy-duty bathroom waterproofing, high-performance sealed drainage, and reinforced window-frame sealing. To accommodate the family's senior member, we also fully integrated anti-slip floor treatments, strategically placed grab bars, and a custom seated shower enclave to ensure a dignified and anxiety-free bathing experience.
On the aesthetic front, the homeowner champions a clean, meticulously organized minimalist philosophy, yet envisioned a space that feels bright, warm, and delightfully playful. Our designer met this brief by making raw pipelines disappear and turning overlooked corners into organizational triumphs:
From bedrooms and the kitchen to the bathroom and the designated A/C compressor zone, every potential "dead corner" was reclaimed as custom storage. In the kitchen, taking the client’s arm reach into account, we installed an ergonomic pull-down wall cabinet system, allowing high-altitude storage to effortlessly glide down to an accessible level.
Theory & Clean Geometry: With all rigid conduits and pipes cleverly concealed, the layout exudes an incredibly cohesive rhythm. The living room pairs the client's favorite shades of Lavender Pink and Lemon Yellow, invoking an instant sense of joy, warmth, and mental relaxation.
To tackle the noisy and visually intrusive A/C compressor, our designer crafted a whimsical, bus-shaped custom enclosure to house the machinery. This setup stops harsh, direct drafts, dramatically muffles operational noise, and incorporates an indoor translucent partition screen. It seamlessly separates the messy mechanical cluster from the living space while allowing radiant natural light to flood deep into the flat.
This project was an absolute joy for our design team, fueled entirely by the homeowner's immense enthusiasm and unwavering support throughout the transformation process. Seeing a mature HOS flat blossom into an ultra-safe, high-storage, and emotionally uplifting home is exactly why we love what we do.
