Case Study Overview:Located in the iconic waterfront development of Laguna City, Lam Tin, this project presented a familiar challenge: a mature estate over 35 years old featuring the estate's signature "diamond-shaped" living room. The Cheung Hing engineering team initiated the makeover with our uncompromising core groundwork—stripping down and overhauling all aging electrical and plumbing conduits, alongside executing a flawless bathtub-to-shower conversion with industrial-grade waterproofing to secure the flat for decades to come.

On the design front, this flat underwent a breathtaking aesthetic transformation. Laguna City’s diamond layouts are notorious for their awkward angled walls, which easily create visual friction and limit furniture placement. Rather than forcing rigid, straight partitions to box out the angles, our designer introduced an ingenious solution: integrating organic, fluid curved geometry into the bespoke light timber cabinetry.

These smooth, rounded contours gently dissolved the harshness of the non-square corners. Instead of feeling restricted, the irregular footprint was magically repositioned into an environment of absolute "effortless serenity." The massive viewing windows flood the flat with natural light, bouncing off the muted white walls and raw wood textures to establish an open, comforting, and deeply therapeutic living path.

This poetic thoughtfulness extends beautifully into the private bedrooms. To cultivate an oasis of nighttime relaxation, the designer custom-crafted wardrobe panels featuring geometric circular punctures that form a delicate constellation motif. Paired with seamless ceiling LED light troughs, the soft luminescence interacts with the star-patterned carpentry the moment the lights turn on. It effortlessly conjures a serene, indoor "starry night" concept—proving that an unpretentious, minimalist home can still harbor moments of magical luxury.
