Case Study Overview:Located in the newly completed On Sau Court, Kwun Tong, this project features a compact, open-plan HOS flat delivered as a brand-new "bare-shell" unit. Free from the structural mold or decaying utilities typical of older estates, the homeowner was able to channel 100% of their budget into bespoke spatial zoning and premium aesthetics. In this wall-free canvas, our designer’s ultimate challenge was a poetic one: maximizing natural daylight while orchestrating strict functional divisions.

We positioned the private bedroom sanctuary directly flush with the large viewing windows, packing it with high-capacity integrated custom storage. To prevent blocking the sunlight, we replaced rigid drywall with custom-engineered frosted translucent sliding doors. Whether closed for privacy or glided open for an expanded floor plan, natural light effortlessly filters deep into the entire flat, making the compact footprint feel remarkably airy and radiant.

The selection of materials and colors strikes a masterful balance between visual weight and airiness:

1. The Contrast of Two-Tone Timbers

‍The primary bespoke cabinetry showcases rich, structural natural Teak wood, while the flooring and select cabinet faces utilize a lighter Oak timber and crisp white finishes. Interspersed with high-clarity glass details and refined brass hardware, the material palette instantly elevates the HOS flat into a tailored luxury micro-apartment.

2. The Art of Fluid Spatial Zoning‍

At the intersection of the living and dining quarters, our designer integrated elegant, curved timber ribbed pillars. This organic silhouette gently demarcates the functional boundary without boxing in the room, deleting harsh edges and offering a relaxed, sophisticated spatial flow.‍

3. Elevating the Daily Culinary & Bath Experience

‍Since the kitchen and bathroom structures were pristine, our approach focused entirely on maximizing convenience and lifestyle luxury. Smart, seamless cabinetry keeps all daily clutter hidden out of sight, while the bathroom was upgraded with a premium dedicated dry-wet separation shower glass partition, significantly upgrading the user's daily wellness routine.
